Updated 2026-10-16. Checked 2026-10-16.
Final Fantasy Resonance releases on 22 October 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows. Standard is $49.99 on the US Steam, PlayStation, Square Enix, and Switch 2 listings I rechecked on 16 October 2026.
I opened the US Steam app page (3259780) and the Square Enix NA product page on 16 October 2026. Both still showed 22 October 2026, and Steam’s US price was $49.99 with a $59.99 Digital Deluxe option. I could not find a browser build, so the button above goes to the download page instead of an embed.
What the stores actually say
Square Enix and LANCARSE Ltd. are the developers on Steam. Square Enix publishes it. Steam calls it the first Final Fantasy in the HD-2D line: pixel characters, a moving camera, and pixelized 3D models. Wikipedia lists Unreal Engine 5 and a single-player RPG.
The Steam short text says you travel with companions and call Visions in battle. It does not sell the game as a live-service card game. The paid editions are the game itself plus optional packs, not a gacha banner.
What changed in the last two weeks
Famitsu’s first full-game review, reported 14 October 2026, scored the game 36/40 (9/9/9/9) and put the main story around 20–30 hours, or about 70 hours with the extra content. Western score aggregators were still empty when I checked on 16 October.
The demo has been up since 3 September 2026 and includes the whole of chapter 1, with some level limits. Saves carry into the full game, according to the Steam demo listing.
